Night at the beach

Two days ago (Saturday) my Dad took my friend Leo and I out to Himatangi beach  for the afternoon and evening. When we first got there we took a net and the spear I made and a boogie board and shot off down to the estery. leo crossed it with the board and could stand the whole way, Once he had crossed I told him to pass the board over so I could put my stuff on as I crossed. After about a minute I had crossed then we walked along the whole estery and everything we caught we let go. as the hours went by we got dinner, made a fire had some smores and let off fire works before going home.

Catching frogs

In the holidays my friend Leo came frog hunting with me at pit park. There was a big pond and a swamp area. We started hunting in the pond but we had no luck so we moved to the swamp. Most of the frogs were on the bank but when we got close they would jump in the water but we couldn't find them. finally I found out where they go in the water. They hide at the bottom of the plants in the water. First I caught a big frog and named it greeny and that one was mine then I caught a smaller one and told leo that he could have it because we were about to go and he had no luck. He called his rocky and started calling mine fat and saying his was the perfect size.

Trip to The Mind Lab

On Tuesday 22.9.15 GRi11 went on a trip to The Mind Lab Petone and we did five activities. Those activities where 3D printing, Stop motion animations, makey makeys, card board cars and scribble bots. The highlight of my trip was 3D printing because I made a duck that goes on a key ring and I got window side on the bus there and back.

Todays update

Today I bought a $10 concrete pot off my business Rock-Hard. In Rock-Hard we make and sell concrete pots to raise money for a trip to mind-lab in Wellington NZ. There are are other businesses to like Dough-Tastik, Kitty Computers inc and more. All of the businesses are part of GRi11 industres and on the 22 of september we will be going to mind-lab and we will learn about coding, 3d printing and more.

It is going to be so much fun and I can't wait.

Lamborghini is a company that started out making tractors but over time turned out making sports cars.

Lamborghini's became so popular because of their performance  and design. Did you know that the first Lamborghini was made in 1968. Also Since 2009 you’ve had to have to have a special kind of licence to drive a Lamborghini.

The best selling Lamborghini A.K.A the best selling sports car of 2008 is the Lamborghini gallardo.Lamborghini uses a special type of fuel called ultra premium - unleaded and it’s only for ferraris and Lamborghinis. The fastest Lamborghini is the Lamborghini Veneno that can reach speeds of 220 mph.

Did you know that the most expensive Lamborghini ever sold  is the Lamborghini reventon for $1,600,000. Also in 2007 Lamborghini sold over 2 580 cars which is the highest amount of cars Lamborghini has ever sold in a year. Lamborghini makes boats as well, These include the Raza, Tombota, Sea Rider and The pathmaker.

You should really buy a Lamborghini if you have the money because there sporty, fast, stylish and there also in a lot of cool movies.

The Day

The Day

“Who’s ready for a field trip?” I screamed with excitement to the students in my class.

“Me!”they all yelled.

We were heading on a field trip into space to learn about the solar system. The children were super excited and but I was worried that something would go wrong.

At 10am we boarded the spaceship and soon after we had lift off.

“3, 2, 1 lift off” the spaceship pilot screamed.

We blasted into space, the first step of the trip is done I thought to myself. Halfway through the trip there was a loud bang. The kids started to freak out and cry. They cried so much that eventually their eyes were as dry as a bone.

An asteroid had hit the rocket. All of a sudden we were heading towards another galaxy and the pilot was nowhere to be seen. I looked for the problem and

“oh no we need spare parts”I mumbled.

Once the children knew what was happening  I put on a space suit and left in search for something to use we needed a new pipe.

About 3 minutes later I was almost out of air and just before I went back to the kids and gave up something caught my eye, a pipe floating to my right. As quick as a fox I grabbed it, there was writing on it that said made in USA 1959. I came back, took off my suit and got to work fixing the ship. Before I knew it the pipe was replaced.

I headed up to the cockpit and realised that I had no idea how to drive it but luckily I knew how to turn on auto pilot and set a coordinates.

15 minutes later something terrible happened, we were attacked by aliens. They locked us up in a laser cage, luckily I came prepared, I had a broken piece of a mirror and I used it to reflect one of the lasers onto the ground to make a hole so we could escape from “the evil space demons” one of my students call them.

We jumped through the hole into another room that had robotic suits, I couldn’t believe my eyes. We all hopped into one and BOOM!!! someone blasted a hole in the door using one of the suits weapons. We stormed out firing our guns at any alien we could see and before we knew it they were all dead. I knew their parents would be mad, but it’s better than their children dying.

Once we found the command center, I set the coordinates and we shot off in a burst of light towards earth. We were going so fast that we went from Saturn to Jupiter in less than a minute and soon after we were in the earth’s atmosphere. Then all of a sudden SPLASH!!! we landed in the middle of Lake Taupo, New Zealand. We hopped out of the spacecraft but the shore was too far away to swim to. Five hours passed and finally someone was brave enough to investigate the crash. We were taken to land soon after. We were finally safe, or were we?

Term 3 week 1

This term (term 3) my friends Jack and James were in my group to create a business. We decided on a thing called swapsters the rest is classified. We haven’t  made and of the toys yet but that’s all you will hear about the product and that I don’t know when it will be out. Till then just wait. :)

My favourite thing about GRi11 term two is that I can use lots of chrome apps for learning and sometimes use paper.

A trip around planet earth

On Earth there are many landforms. There are many different types of landforms including mountains, lakes, volcanoes, islands, plateaus and even peninsulas. mountains are tall rocky structures that usually have snow at the top and if there are many of them together it is called a mountain range.Mountains can be many sizes and can also be mistaken as volcanoes.Volcanoes are tall like mountains but can erupt causing ash and lava to fly everywhere this is what the inside of a volcano:

Volcanoes can explode to leave a huge hole that can make a lake for example lake taupo:

Lakes are Big or medium bodies of water that can contain fish, fresh water crayfish and seaweed.Lakes can be in various shapes and sizes.They can be shallow or deep and not all of them contain life also they can be hazardous.Islands are bodies of land surrounded by water.They can be big they can be small they can be round they can be oval they can be sand they can be dirt they can have trees the can have animals.Islands can contain people some can’t .

Plateaus are mountains with a flat tops . they are usually in deserts.and can be very hard to get to.A peninsula is a piece of land that just sticks off from the mainland.It can also be many shapes and sizes.

Octoshark vs the squidwhale

Dave swam as fast as he could to try and get to the bottom. he found air pockets on the way down .He swam for about 5 minutes until he started to see a faint golden glow .As he swam closer he saw a giant golden octoshark .As soon as he did he swam up into a cave he saw earlier and to his surprise it was filled with underwater spy gear and air tanks. Dave picked up all he could and shot off toward it . He used eight harpoons to try and inger it all it did was blind it in one eye from that moment Dave knew this was going to be hard. He swam back and found a light saber brought it out and “Sssss” it went out by the water. he swam back and forth trying to find a good weapon until he found the trident it was the only thing that could defeat the octoshark but only the prince of the squidwhale could use it. luckily he was.”zap” he used the power of the trident to zap a cage of magic over the octoshark and from that day on he was the king of the octoshark and the squidwhale.

Cross Country news report

GRILL CROSS COUNTRY by Leo N and Ben R

On Tuesday 19th of May 2015 a huge event took place at the Dransfield's farms named "Cross country" by CSNS. Year 3 - year 6 students ran in waves (year 3 girls go first and year 6 boys go last). Over half of the school was involved in this event including some teachers. Teachers from all around the middle and senior syndicates helped the students complete the race.The Certificates will be given to the first,second and third finishers. Luckily the weather was nice and sunny. There was different lengths of running for different ages. After they got sausages. We also competed.

Scripts:

Leo: On Tuesday 19th of May 2015 the cross country happened at the Dransfield's farm the contestants ran a huge amount of the farm and received sausages after the race, some lucky people like me had 2 sausages. Actually I came 7th well kind of 4th because my shoe came off how unlucky.

Ben:The racers were ordered: year 3 girls - year 6 boys.During the race I slipped in mud and almost fell over And for the parents watching there was coffee.

Ben:There was loads of mud and some people's shoes came off in it.

Leo: after this event everybody hopped  back on to the busses and talked all the way back the school.

The unwanted visitor

“Good luck” yelled Bruce's best friend Jack from the safety platform . Bruce is going to leave mars on a top secret mission . It’s so secret even I don’t know it . He set his G.P.S to earth and left his wonderful home behind . About an hour into the journey Bruce noticed something move under a blanket. He silently walked over frightened he pulled the blanket away and to his surprise he saw a black figure run off down the hall . He looked back to where the figure was and saw a bomb that would detonate in two minutes .

Bruce ran to the pod room but instead of seeing one battle pod and one escape pod there was only an escape pod . He hopped in, started up the engine and set the G.P.S once again to earth and flew off and as he did the ship exploded . Halfway into the journey Bruce found out that he was being followed . He zoomed off and as he entered the earth’s atmosphere his only engine got shot . He picked up the first five gadgets he could see . Bruce jumped out and as he fell he used his first gadget that changed his form. He changed into a human and “SPLASH!” Bruce landed face first into some watery mud. He got up and walked north until he found a road he then followed the road west until he a town called Leo's town. He used his second gadget that let him know who to trust. He followed it to letterbox number 135 and told the people that lived there everything. They promised they would help. He then used his third gadget that would him know where nearby ships are. It said that one was at a place called area 52 . The people he was with drove him there. He then used his first gadget again and turned into a gold ant. Bruce found his way into the spaceship room and went in the most fuel efficient one. Bruce pulled out his fourth gadget that would let him drive every spaceship. he set off to find the enemy when he realised his fifth gadget could track anything and when he got back to mars he told the army and now the figure is in prison turns out he was from a far away galaxy. You may be wondering who I am, I am the General.

I know when you walk in and you see people under tables and talking you may see madness but really there working in a new fun kind of environment .

It is a very effective way of  learning and now I am overly excited to come school .  I have never learnt like this and I want to find out how well it works and I think you should to .

In Gri11 we get to learn to work interdependantly and it is very effective . we work on what we want and when we want to work on it . we learn in while we have fun and we love it .

We love gri11 please don’t take it away from us .
